Pellet produced 6 barbel (best fish 5 lb 8 oz) and 13 chub of all sizes with best fish to about 4 lb mark. I absolutely loved this spectacular stretch of the river.

Adjusted my client day as he had aged parent issues, rearranging for mid Seotember, so onwards to Pontithel ..... Why has no one fished it yet this season !!!!
I had a ball to be honest ... overgrown and like a jungle , not the river I remember it, but they're all going that way in fairness.... Good job I'm agile and don't mind these wild stream obstacles etc etc etc ...
River clear, sitting at 0.171 on the gauge, OK, could do with a dam good flush out !! Just like the Ithon, that brown yukky dead algae on the rocks..... Been closed some three years or more maybe....why couldn't the bankside etc be kept half decent in that time ???? Used to be one of the easier fishable rivers!!!! Dry fly sport here, tiny Para dries, eight grayling and one trout, which I came back for to fish a pool I'd missed him in earlier ..... bang, got him.second attempt though lol .......
Would I fish this again......errrrrrrrmmmmmm possibly ... weird how very few trout and bags of grayling!! Still, great takes on the dries to be honest.... must admit I'm a wild brown trout man , I'd come back, but it needs work here, and lots too, seems like it's just been left, forgotten about, bit like all the other wild streams !!! A fun day, on a private beat tommorrow, happy days !!! Then back in the Elan Valley on a feeder stream the weekend ..... sorted !!!
