Commenced fishing at midday, at bottom end of beat. Tried to walk beat length but could not get along riverside path through wood due to poor clearance. Only seven swims accessible, no visible clearance work of swims had been undertaken. Very disappointing considering the cost of a day on this beat. There were not enough swims available for 2 anglers let alone beat max of 4! Between us we caught approx 80 odd chub (varying from chublets to 4lb 12oz and approx 10 dace of good size. Both float fished all afternoon and changed to static baits in the evening. Beautiful setting!

Float fished again and had another good day with plenty of fish. The Dace are lovely fish to catch and at the end of the day my arm was aching. Big thank you to Colin for all the advice he gave me.
