A very picturesque beat, especially the waterfalls.

2 trout to hand, one on a Klinkhammer, the other on a PTN suspended underneath. Water level quite low and very clear.

There were a number of small trout going for the Klinkhammer but the hook didn't set. Apart from that, didn't see a hatch and no rises elsewhere.

Conditions perfect, except for bright sun. Less visible activity than I had expected, and it definitely slowed later in the afternoon and did not pick up towards evening. Two trout to dry (size 16 duck's dun) and two to nymph, and a 14" grayling on the dry. We both lost very good fish (Trout).

Another very warm afternoon at my favourite venue. Only managed one Chub on the balsa but was very productive later on the feeder. Had very rowdy drunken canoeists around 3pm, swimming in the river and being generally rude. Thinking it fun to paddle into the geese situated by the island. After resting the swim it picked up after 5pm. Steadily caught 9 nice barbel. The geese were very active around 7pm, was fun watching them fly back and forth up the river. Lovely evening and a wonderful moon on the way home. Fabulous day

Arrived at about 7.30am and caught 2 chub in quick succession.
Then the abstraction pump started , managed to put up with it for a couple of hours before moving.
The river was low, yet reasonably coloured, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so the prospects for the main part of the day were not looking good.
The catch rate reflected this, with the remaining fish all coming after 6pm.
Pellet and feeder accounted for all fish caught, which included an Eel!
Over all an enjoyable day, shame we couldn't fish into the night, like the anglers on the opposite bank.
Thank you to the Wye and Usk foundation for another good day.
