Just fished the early morning as didn't fancy the hot weather. Anyway, the chub liked my pellets.

Picked the hottest day of the year to climb the hill and walk to the lucky stones. The heat was overpowering in the afternoon meaning a siesta was taken. Chub were taken during the day but despite trying feeder tactics, trotting and rolling meat the barbel didn't come until the evening when both of us landed one and lost one .Best was 7lb 2oz. One fish lost to a snag and the other to a hook pull at the net. The other was an eel.

Fished the bay area-had one mid morning a fish about two pound-then it went dead- a very very hot day. Moved to top end of bay on advice of bailiff and caught x 3 Golden trout on the fly all fish again aver two pound and fought hard.

Only fished from 7 pm until 9 pm as daytime temperatures were oppressive.

Action from start to finish with 1 Barbel lost.

Another evening on the Lugg - the last this year, the evenings are drawing in already! Again not much surface activity....one pod of rising grayling yielded a nine incher and much more excitement as the rest kept coming and missing the fly....
Last knockings a fish crunched in a streamy run which turned out to be another Lugg beauty - about 8 inches - but that was our lot. Lovely evening to be out though.

Total blank. Very very hot. Swimmers made fishing very tricky. Boat traffic heavy but courteous.

1 tiny dace. Strangely muddy after overnight showers.

A couple of hours in the shade of the Edw valley after a hot visit to the show at Builth.
About half a dozen small trout to a small unweighted nymph/spider. Plenty more too quick for me or came off.
