It was raining heavily, so decided not to fish. However I have fished this beat before and recommend it.

Not the easiest of days. The slab rock was like well greased glass, a wading stick is a must. I wouldn't recommend taking a saloon car down to the cabin parking, I struggled in mine. There were very few fish moving, those that did within casting range fell to a deer hair emerger and Griffiths gnat. The remainder were took on nymph fished NZ style.
Access into the water on the left bank below the bridge is a challenge, upstream of the bridge on the left bank there is an area where dog walkers park there cars with a pathway down to the river. This is above where there is a gate marked on the beat map; easy parking.

A lovely couple of hours spent this evening fishing one of my favourite Wye beats.
WUF I wonder if it would be possible to ask if half price evening tickets could be a possibility? As £20 plus pounds feels quite expensive for a couple of hours fishing on a summers evening.

Great day on Llyn Cefni, tried to fish from the boat but high wind was making the drifts tricky so mostly fished from the bank. Had three browns and a rainbow with the biggest about 2lb, all caught on red or green diawl bachs and went back strong. Will definitely be back.

Slightly overcast and cooler conditions. The fish started to rise sporadically at about 5pm. Couldn't work out what they were taking. Tried some pheasant tailed nymphs, and gold headed black nymph plus some drys including mayfly and a big fat daddy but sadly no luck! Beautiful sunset before I left which made the evening.

River shot up after lunch. Spotted a couple of mink at the far end of the beat.

4 brown trout caught & returned. Another 3 lost . All around 8"-10". Flies used size 12 soft hackled wet ( March brown) &
Small bead head nymph size 16.
