Certainly a very pretty river. Extremely low water with weed and shingle showing. Long stretches almost still water but sufficient riffles to make it interesting. I think this stretch would fish well with water on it, perhaps another 18 inches. We caught 2 nice trout and 2 grayling about 7 inches and a chub about 1lb. Used small beige klinkhammer dry and a #16 PTN with a pink 2mm bead, either fishing dry or nymphing. 8ft #3 weight rod quite sufficient for this water which is not wide and easy wading.

Coloured and seemingly high water. The water visibly dropped and cleared late afternoon and trout started to take g/h daddies and weighted 'grubs'. Salmon showing on the big bend before the flats. Lovely evening.

First time I have fished this river. Water was low but there had been some rain the day before. The day was overcast with quite a breeze in the middle of the day and some rain. Caught 1 grayling and 9 trout all small, biggest trout was about 10 inches. Lost a nice fish in the lower beat. Fished a variety of klinks/dinks, hares ears and Greywolf type dries. Huge amounts of small fry through out the beat. Saw some larger fish move in some of the pools. A good day out with plenty of pools /runs and a variety of situations to work on.

First visit to the Wye while on holiday and had high hopes, arrived early to have a good look around and get set up. Pegs along the meadow were disapointingly very overgrown and certainly didn't look as managed as I expected for the amount we paid to fish, ended up fishing near the car park as this gave reasonable safe access for my relatively inexperienced companion despite the drop to the water due to low river levels. Unfortunately however with constant disruptions from unbelievable amounts of canoe tourists we gave up fishing as a bad idea and left empty handed. Certainly won't visit here again during the weekend , we found it a busy noisey river and not the wild peacefull place I expected it to be. Would be Happy to accept a refund if offered, certainly not a venue I would currently recommend to friends.
The 3 "other " listed in the catch list were snagged canoes, not fish unfortunately!
