Disappointing if beautiful day, water possibly still a bit high and coloured resulting in a lot of scrambling in and out of the river, steady hatch of small upwing flies and the occasional monster stone fly made me think that it could all come alive at any moment, but it didn't.

The Teme was still pushing quite hard with considerable colour. I did not see or experience any fish activity. Lovely day and the Red Kite that I saw was one of the biggest I have ever seen. A return in about ten days might prove productive but I'm in Scotland then.

When I arrived at 8.30am the river was looking beautiful with a steady trickle of olives coming off, dropping in height with touch of colour. There was still too much water to fish the top of the beat properly but the lower pools were pretty good. Four fish to tight line bead head nymphs and four to the good old Para Adams sz14. The sun got stronger and by noon it was siesta time, nothing bigger than 15" but all in great condition.

Beautiful day but fishing conditions challenging with river high and in full flow in bright sunshine. Managed to catch one wbt of 10-12 inches on GRHE which was returned safely.

Beautiful beat, and although some olives were hatching there was no sign of any trout feeding (although I was only there for the morning), andI didn't have any interest in nymphs or dry flies. The current was still very strong after recent rain, and a bit coloured. Not sure whether it was that, the late spring, or perhaps the sunny conditions were keeping fish down deep.

Disappointing day, river running well with slight colour, but almost nothing hatching and I did not see or touch a trout all day. Tried all methods but river just seemed dead. Stretch above the first footbridge through the woods is well overgrown and v. difficult to fish, although it opens out again above the woods.
