Probably too much water, but very enjoyable despite only having one take (which I lost)! - took a Greenwells spider having tried various nymphs and dry flies.

A first visit to this beat for my son and myself - really enjoyed ourselves but could see that summer water levels would make life pretty challenging. One trout only which took a Greenwells Glory having tried a selection of nymphs

A tough but enjoyable day. The only hatch in evidence was midge and around 5 of the fish took emerging midge patterns. All others were caught on various traditional wets.

An excellent afternoons sport on Tal-y-Bont. Mild, overcast with light wind. You could not have asked for better conditions, with buzzer hatching all over the lake. The trout obliged, with many quality fish from 12 to 17 inches being caught on floating lines and long leaders. Most fish averaged around 14 inches (a pound).

a total disaster, water at 1ft6 on gauge which was just fishable but i parked at the lower limit car park on the true left bank. i spent more time walking to try and get in the water than fishing , as i got half way up the beat i noticed all the better fishing was from the right bank with easy access to the water. fed up i went back to the car and just left for home. several other anglers there as well. will probably not fish again due to that reason. did hooked 4 all of decent size but lost all to hook pulls trying to stop them getting into the fast water. nice to see it though as not fished here before but for the extra tenner dinas to me is far better.

4 Trout, 4 Grayling
