The river fished even better than the previous day. Best barbel was 9.02. Feeder fishing with pellets as bait was the method used.

Hyped up after the previous days catch an early start was made. A fish rose whilst tackling up and it succumbed first cast to a small Francis like yesterdays fish. 4 hours later after no offers or signs of fish it was obvious that the fish had moved on. Thats fishing!

11Lb hen fish (coloured), beat 3 again (7.15pm just as the light was going), same old trusty yellow & black tube (must find out what its called!). Great fight, thought it was a bigger fish than it turned out to be. River in top condition.

Water .8m and perfect colour. started at 10.30 and by 11.45 John has hooked and landed 3 salmon. The 4th was lost after a few minutes and was a big fish. The first two were quite red and were returned safely. The fourth was a fresh run fish and was taken weighing 13lb.

John wasn't finished, landing two nice trout on pound and half each on a quill and a silver and black FC. Both returned safely.

He reckons it was the best day's fishing in his forty years. I acted as ghillie as I was on the net more than fishing!!! I blanked. Ce la vie!!! But a day to remember for John. Well done mate!!!

Arrived about 2pm. Roved around in the afternoon trying to find the fish and eventually did so settled into a swim for the evening and had 3 fish all between 8 and 9lbs in about an hour. Really nice beat. All fish taken on pellet on the ledger using PVA bags. Only issue was a rude angler on the opposite bank who started F'ing and blinding as he thought I was going to fish opposite him. Ridiculous as I was miles (literally 30 yards downstream and it's a wide river!) from him and was only walking the beat anyway! I told him to mind his manners and left him to it... anyway, nice evenings fishing, good access and well kept.

Delayed departure from SW London meant I didn't get started until 3pm. A few fish rising but managed only a single fish, about 3/4lb, which was returned, on a black gnat .

I have not fished this beat before and found access tricky, possibly because the water level seemed to be high making it difficult to move upstream . I couldn't work out how to fish the upper part of the beat due to the combination of barbed wire and deep water.

River still well up after last week's spate. Weather bright. Started fishing soon after 2.00 pm and had four barbel (and lost two) in the first three hours. It was quiet for the next hour and I was about to move to another swim when I caught another fish, so I stayed where I was. Probably a mistake as nothing else before darkness fell. All on pellet and feeder.

River much lower than yesterday but still pretty tough. Highlight of the day was a fantastic barbel of 10lb 5oz caught from the lower field. 8mm meat boilie fished on a very long leader under overhanging trees did the trick. Other than that we had a good batch of chub with the biggest at 5lb 2oz. All fish in mint condition.
