Fished roving all around the meadow swims. Tactics included float, feeder and float paternoster. We fished the morning and early afternoon but heavy rain meant we took a break until the evening. Fish caught were lots of dace and chub and minnows, and one lost pike of around 10lb. The evening session after the rain included 3 barbel of 6lb,and 7.5lb to T Everitt and a cracking 10lb barbel to A Davis. All fish were in superb condition. We enjoyed this session very much.

Dredful conditions.driving rain . Cold, rising river full of leaves etc. Really had to work for that one fish. Only fished for four hours.

1 Grayling

Similarly as hard as the day before. Weather didn't help but nothing we could do about that. Tried numerous swims throughout the stretch with a multitude of baits all to no avail. Two small Barbel both fell to sweetcorn.

2 Barbel

Second day on the beat, started out in the rope pool for a few hours which proved hopeless, moved up to the upper part and started catching well through the afternoon.
Weather was awful so only myself out of the 3 of us braved the weather but it was well worth it.
Fish were all between 7-9lb

4 Barbel

Horrible weather. Fishing tough going. Fish caught to feeder just upstream of the fishing Hut. Lovely looking stretch of river.

2 Barbel, 1 Chub

Low water, humid conditions. Heavy rain @ 16:00 called it a day.

3 Trout

We didn't fish due to appalling weather when we arrived. So headed for Sportfish, the pub and home.

Plenty of fly on the water but no fish rising. All grayling caught on weighted nymphs in the fast water sections. Several salmon and one eel seen.
