River very low and clear. Spent the first hour baiting and sighting fish. Only saw one Barbel during all this time from the bridge. Chub were plentiful. Started fishing near side left of the bridge and roved throughout a very wet day. Was hoping levels and colour would change but despite trying many tactics (leger, feeder, float, freelining) and a whole range of baits could only manage Chub. Was a tough day but no doubt the rain may improve things. All chub were between 2.5-3.5lb. Access to the water is great and its very picturesque. Thx USK.

No sign of the Barbel today. Caught the five Chub to 3lbs by midday, but then went home due to very very heavy rain, which made the very steep banks absolutely treacherous.

It was a very wet day after weeks of no rain. Packed up early as the banks became dangerous despite using ropes and spikes.

First session of a 4 day trip to the Wye. We'd never fished White House before so took time to walk the whole beat before deciding to fish in the left field. I fished the first Croy and my mate fished further downstream. With 2 diesel extraction pumps going for most of the day it was pretty noisy coupled with rain from a drizzle to full pelt was not the best of days. Despite trying pellets, luncheon meat, and bread only action of the day was from a sub 2lb Barbel.

Excellent Fishery with a fantastic head of wild fish, plenty of fish on French leader and beaded nymphs, and a good amout of Grayling sighted rising and cast to with a Dry.
The trout ranged from 4" to 12".
The Grayling all seemed to be 8,9,10",
Two fish in the 12"+ bracket.
The numbers are roundabout, I lost track of the Grayling tally but the Trout numbers are correct I think.
Excellent day again on the Lugg.

Lots of small barbel around 1-3lb but you have to be ready for the odd lump hanging around, always a pleasure to fish the Wye, such a beautiful river

A slightly overcast day, but cooler than the previous weekend. The river was fairly low and clear so I decided to opt for a single handed 7 weight rod and smaller fly sizes, which meant dipping into the sea trout box. I saw two fish, which I believe to have been Salmon, moving in the lower pool. I was unable to tempt them with anything, but did catch two Chub of about 1lb each on Invicta and Teal Blue and Silver patterns from the same pool.
Since I was here about a month ago fishing the Foy Fishery beat the left bank access has been cleared and it is now much easier to find the access points to the river.
NB for WUF - I noted a few stands of Himalayan Balsam coming into flower at either end of the bridge.

2 Chub
