arrived to find the river low and clear and with anglers already in it !!!!opposite the walkway swims anglers from the far bank casting to w&u side and actually in the river touch legering,we werent impressed at all,we counted 7 anglers fishing from that bank during our day,with the banker swims ruined we tried elsewhere on the stretch to no avail,just a couple of dace.its the 2nd time we've been to whitehouse and we wont be returning in a hurry

Arrived after lunch. Walked the whole beat since it was my first time. Decided to stay by the hut swim. Fast flowing water and tons of weed made it impossible to fish there and I haven't had as much as a tap. Moved to the wooded section, fished close in and caught 5 chub and 3 barbel, which was a nice end to the day

A first Wye salmon for GORDON Wigginton. An 11lb plus hen from the Vanstone. Much joy all around. I had a decent Chub at the same time from the Maddocks - big enough to raise hopes for a moment or two. Helpfully guided by Mick Sutton a good day.

Fairly quiet until late afternoon when things livened up, some nice Barbel that fought hard in fast water,3 over 8 lbs, also couple of small ones under 1 lb which is a good sign for the future .All in all a nice beat to fish and hope to return next season.
