Fished the peg opposite the house. Access down to the swim was pretty difficult as there had been a lot of rain this morning. I appreciate you leaving it natural but some investment could be made to making access alot safer and overall improve the angling experience. Even the addition of a rope would help.

The fishing itself was fantastic. All fish caught on cage feeder just inside the faster flowing water. All barbel in good condition and were well rested before release. Weights ranged from 4-8 pounds.

Fishing Passport Note : The Wye is an SAC and SSSI, meaning the river and its banks are highly protected under law. There are, therefore, strict limits on what can be done to improve access.

I have fished the Usk for 40 years now and 20 odd years ago I introduced a friend, Tony Baldwin to the Usk. We went our separate fishing ways and lost touch. But today we decided to rekindle an old partnership and he put me to shame with an absolutely beautiful specimen brown of 3 pounds. Well done mate. A privilege to be in such company and thank you Wye and Usk

My goodness- Hot and still this PM- got my courage up and went for teeny weeny dries. So 3 to the net and 4 more where I let myself down. As mentioned earlier, Himalaya need their balsam back and the styles are getting tricky. Definitely worth a revisit but I will bring a bill-hook and a car mat to cross the wire. (Just fished upstream of the bridge- not sure of what it's like below. )
