Conditions remain unchanged over recent days.
That is to say, water on the low side but clear, with a piercing, blustery cold wind which inhibits casting.
Suspect water too cold to animate the salmon.
If they are running they are not showing.

Fished with my good fiend M B, who is even less experienced than me at fly fishing
Arrived at around 8:30 the river very low, weather cloudy with a cold down stream wind.
I started at the very bottom of the beat and M a little further up.
For me it was very hard going with to start, the wind hampered my casting and any fish that did show I couldn't cover. Then around 10:30 the sun came out and stayed out, and with it an enormous hatch of gnats and a few small mayfly.
I fished the clink and dink but despite casting at every fish I saw only two went for the dry, one was missed and the other lost.
I caught 2 graying one about 10 inches the other 4, and two trout also 10 inches and 4.
All of my fish were take on a GRHE.
M had two very small trout on a dry, which he persevered with all day.
The most surprising thing was that despite the fly life there were only sporadic rises, and fish rarely rose in the same place twice.
I did see quite a few nice fish but they just seemed to be cruising all over the place rather than staying on station.
A lovely day on a beautiful beat, would love to fish this place when they're on the feed!

One small trout - half pounder in Rectory Neck. River too low to fish really.

Struggled to get any interest on or below the surface in very low water conditions. Nonetheless, this is a very nice stretch of water made all the better by lovely weather. Will return.

Stunning day on the river, small hatch in the morning, a few trout responding to the hatch. River as low as I have seen it and crystal clear made for hard work, F J had 3 fish on dry fly- F fly I think and I had 3 fish on bugs, all caught in the morning.
