Low, clear water. Sunny day, with a cool, gusty, northerly breeze. Fishing was slow, but bites came in the shade, riffles and ripples created by the breeze.

Although the Barbel weren't playing ball for me I enjoyed trotting for a few Chub to 4lb and about 12 Dace to 7oz.
A very well managed fishery with swims cut out to provide easy access down the banks.
I'll be back.

River in poor condition weird brown stain to it. Ive seen it like this before and have never done any good. Today was no exception, no fish and couldn't get any bites. Tried all the favourite places. Enjoyed the walk and scenery and will be back again later in the winter.

Fished bottom pool in the morning and caught 1 barbel around 5lb. Conditions were tricky with the river really rushing through after the previous day's rain. No more fish forthcoming so changed tack to trotting maggots in the afternoon. We had good fun catching chublets and dace before having another crack at the barbel. We moved to the bench swim which was still pushing through but seemed a bit more manageable. Had a barbel within 10 minutes and caught 6 altogether and another chub. Biggest weighed in at 9lb 8oz and had others at 8lb 10oz, 8lb 8oz and 7lb 5oz. All beautiful fish caught on feeder and pellet. Best looking and fighting fish I've ever seen. Absolutely cracking day. We will be back.

The river was up a little and fairly coloured. I fished 4 swims but did not get a bite until nearly 3pm, then from 2 swims I had 16 barbel (4 and 12) from approx 5lb to maybe a little over 10lb. Access to swims was good. This was my first return to the Wye in nearly 10 years and I will be back! Thanks WUF.

Had a good day with 8 good grayling and 2 out of season brownies, had 1 to czeck nymph and the rest on the duo, most of my success came from the lowest beat as the river is a little easier to wade. Great day

River very low today with the weir pool hardly present. Not many rising fish evident but a size 18 grey duster did get some little fellows to have a go. A weighted red tag and beadhead ptn also proved of interest. 5 modest sized grayling and 5 oos trout made it an enjoyable 3-4 hours. One curious incident: whilst extricating a snagged back-cast found myself face to face with an owl perched within the tree. It promptly flew out; gave me quite a start. Incidentally, this beat must be in one of the prettiest little valleys around.

Second day on this beat. River conditions were perfect with the increase in the level maintained and the flow steady. Started half way down the bottom field and started catching straight away. Switched mid afternoon to the swim by the 1st gate to catch the last 5 barbel including the best of the day at 8lb 14ozs. All fish caught on pellets/PVA bag method.
Another terrific day on the Wye, love this beat, for me barbel fishing doesn't get any better than this.
