Lovely day on/in the river, mostly trotting hemp and maggot. We caught many dace and some small chub. River was low and tea coloured. My buddy was snapped off while ledgering at the end of the session by something somewhat larger!
Very nice beat but would advise to travel light. Also, watch out for your sandwiches as the farmers dog had mine!

Spent 12 hours fishing with no catch. In the area that my friend and I fished there was a total of 11 people fishing with only one catch. Have not fished this reservoir for some time and it seems that it is inadequately stocked. This theory was backed up by my loal fishing tackle shop the following day by comments by other anglers who came to the same conclusion.
Will not fish there again and will advise others not to untill the fishing improves.

Bright sunny day from the off, so we were not expecting to much, however the fish did feed on and off during the day, mainly when there where moments of cloud cover. 20 Barbel and 8 chub was far more than we expected, with the best Barbel at 11.4 lb.

A shared rod came away with 6 Wbt and 3 Grayling to the net on a sunnier than predicted day, with the riverbed lit up like West Ham's new stadium, we were pleased to have come away with a better result than them !

Quite a bit of fly life about but very few rises seen. Very calm and warm for the time of year. I plodded upstream for a few hours with an elk hair caddis but had no takers.
