Great day for our party of 6 anglers. 16 barbel and a good few chub. Had to remove 2 anglers who had been camping overnight on one of the cribs. Asleep in their sleeping bags and rods still fishing.

Nothing moving but lucky to catch 1 small hard fighting fish on legered worm! It was the only take all day! Couldn't believe how many cray fish were in there! It was my first time back there for 20 years! We were on the ramp by the dam.

Blisteringly hot day with blue skies, we had no problem with locating fish or watching them take free offerings, however they were not playing ball with hookbaits and we struggled throughout the entire stretch.
Many canoes..!

Many salmon showing but not taking. Used fly majority of the time, lost a salmon about 8/9lb on a flying c in the Vanstone after a fight but the salmon won. Fished early morning and evening due to the amount of canoes going through. Water rose a few inches during the day and a little colour but still ideal fishing just a little too sunny and warm.

I started on the far end of the fishery and unusually only caught 2 chub. It was difficult to cast to the barbel pool due to overhanging willows. I moved to the opposite end and managed to catch 2 barbel and 10 chub. GW caught 2 barbel and 2 chub mid beat. All fish fell to pellet feeder.

1 fish in 3 days didn't help with the bright weather and low river. I've got to say I'm very disappointed in the Wye and Usk Foundation. Could only fish a quarter of the stretch. No effort made to cut out any pegs. When your paying £22 a day to fish you think it would be the least they could do. Will certainly not book any fishing with the WUF again. You can fish the opposite bank of there stretches for half the price or even less and night fish.

Another scorcher of a day with unbroken sunshine, river low slow and clear. I didn't get going until late morning so was not expecting any action until the sun was down in the evening, however the chub and barbel fed throughout the day. Feeder tactics again doing the business. River needs a bit of fresh rain water to liven it up, but it is a beautiful place to fish, very peaceful and even the canoes behaved (although the ''stand up and paddle'' trio who came through, one of which clearly had a skinful and enjoyed falling in a few times where I was fishing, didn't ruin the day). The barbel and chub were of average size and nothing really note-worthy.
