Fantastic bit of river. Unfortunately I hooked 2 definite barbel and lost them as well as the one I landed.

1 Barbel, 5 Chub

Nymphing most of the day as few visible rises.

5 Perch put back in 10 trout in total 8 went home with me and my mate all good sise good day

Fantastic water which, in parts, I found very daunting. No fish but enjoyed my day.

No fish caught. Saw several crayfish around the edges.

20 Barbel, 6 Chub

Hemp and halibut ground bait with 12mm halibut pellet. Good conditions.

13 Barbel, 10 Chub

Second visit this year and can't fault this beat. Water high but no problem with access. Took a couple of dunkings even though I had studs soles and a wadding stick. Didn't spoil the day as had three WBT 8 inch - polish nymphing with weighted black PTN on point and Red-tag on the dropper. Had plenty of misses and one that nearly pulled me, resulting in my GRHE being completely stripped.

Four hours of kneeling down and side casting produced 3 wbt of five to eight inches to the Griffiths gnat. Retired aching to the Seven Stars and lubricated with a few fine pints of " Butty". All in all another enjoyable three days on the wild streams, thanks WUF.

Misty start to the day with no fish rising. Decided to fish the duo and contacted and lost 3 fish in the first ten minutes. No being to disappointed I carried on and took 5 fish to 14" over the next few hours. A few missed on both flies, but an enjoyable day.
