1 Salmon

Cold downstream wind, but fish still holding in faster pockets and runs. Needed to fish deep with short lined nymph.

5 Trout

Day abandoned at 2-30 due to artic weather. No fish seen or caught.

1 Fish caught on a nymph, 2 Fish caught on a dry. There was a few good hatches of mayflies, however there seemed to be a lot of small fish that were very hard to hook.

3 Trout

Zero fish caught, arrived 09:30 and left 11:00 due to smoke from a fire that a group of anglers had lit. We were downwind and made several attempts but were unable to get away from the smoke. Very disappointed, not like my previous visit.

Weather very cold at times with sleet and hail. Thunder threatening. Then the sun would come out and warm things up a bit. Swallows flying low over river and some buzzers in evidence. Saw three nice fish but could not tempt any. Gave up soon after as weather looked like taking a turn for the worse.

Very cold conditions, all trout caught on spiders, one oos grayling returned unharmed 16 inches.

5 Trout

Weather was foul; this was the first time I have cauight a trout in a hailstorm! But the small ones were feeding at least, on nymphs, and kept me cheerful.

6 Trout

First time on the Wye - thoroughly enjoyed it, used fly all day unfortunately no fish caught.

An enjoyable day with conditions to test my technique! A couple of takes but nothing to net. Noticed a deceased Salmon approximately 40" in the margin the fish looked clean.
