First of all, may I say, what a stunning place to be. I think my brother spent as much time taking photos as he did fishing. Water levels were very low and very few fish were evident. We did manage three very small trout between us although that was more by luck than judgement. Just a phenomenal place to be on a Sunday and we will be back (when there's a bit more water!)

River levels normal for summer as judged by the drop over the rapids up stream of me. I fished the section opposite the line of rocks. Water was clear but warm which I think explained why I caught so many chub compared to barbel. All but one fish taken on ledger or feeder, one chub taken on the float. Noted large 10-15lb salmon in pool all day breaking surface a dozen times. Bird life abundant, Teals, Kingfishers, Goosanders, Little Egret, Cormorants and Greenshank. Excellent day.

River level just under a foot at Llanstephan. Slightly overcast day at about 18 degrees. Only a very few rising fish when I arrived at 1pm so went with team of three wets with a bead head GRHE on point. Made some changes during the day and found something with red in it tempted the fish. Plenty of salmon parr around especially in the shallow riffles. Best of the grayling was about 14" but hooked and lost a fish that looked much larger. There was a substantial hatch of flies about 4-5pm that stimulated a few fish to come up and play but nothing spectacular.

Beautiful stretch of the Wye, water levels unfortunately were really low which made fishing hard. No barbel seen but another guy caught one upstream, fish just weren't biting. Will definitely be back. Tried feeder fishing with meat, pellets and corn. Chub were taking sweet corn. Also tried rolling meat.

Another fabulous day on this premier beat. I fished at the end of the beat on previous advice from Colin the bailiff and if the water is low enough to give access to this part of the beat then it is stuffed with fish. The swim was full of chub which were a very good average size with 2 weighed in at 5lbs+. Any bait will do but the barbel all took pellet and I did lose a couple in the fast water with hook pulls but I think that's always going to happen. It was a lovely sunny day and the exclusivity offered on this really well maintained beat made this all very special.

Only fished for a couple of hours. Very low clear water and no visible fish movement although some signs of hatches of olives and sedges. No fish caught
All fishing by French nymph on a long rod with two nymphs. This technique was successful the previous day in similar conditions on the river Ebbw.
