A wonderful day out in the most idyllic setting. Perfect weather 12-17 degrees C. No wind, some light cloud but mainly sunny. Water clear and quite low.
I caught 4 lovely brown trout, 3 around half a pound but one about 3/4 pounds. All returned. Fished dry fly using a No 16 pheasant tail. I was a bit surprised to catch anything as very little in the way of rising trout.

Just a quick fish after work 6 - 8pm. 2 x trout, 8 and 11 inch. Missed quite a few splashy rises to a dry klink. No fly on water, fish activity not as much as anticipated- considering it was 20 degrees at 6.00 pm.

Very nice day, with 3 or 4 others fishing the same beat. Water levels very low for the time of year, but right through the day there seemed to be fish ready to take a nymph wherever there was broken water and a little depth. Nothing of any size though. Four were around 6 - 8oz, and three more smaller - salmon parr size. Maybe they were salmon parr??

River very low, bright sunny day, a fair number of fish rising but unfortunately their reactions were a lot faster than mine! One 8" trout and numerous missed takes!

Fished NE shore in the morning in bright sunlight and light breeze. Caught one 2lb rainbow on gold head cat's whisker. Fished SE shore after lunch with no further luck. Tragic that there is a sector of the fishing community who have no respect for the landscape or environment which provides their recreation. The litter problem along the NE shore is terrible with discarded beer tins, bottles and powerbait containers. If you can carry it in you can carry it out.

After fishing this beat on the Thursday before and catching 14 trout to 14" I wanted to have another go for some of the larger fish I had spotted. With a bright sunny sky and lower water I knew It was not going to be easy. By getting into position late morning near the head of one of the larger pools I kept still and let the fish start feeding on the steady trickle of LDO's and March Browns. A para Adams and a black tung bead PTN fished duo took some good fish, the best being a very fat 17" with a couple of solid fish lost. Later on I used long leader nymphs to have some good sport taking fish from the faster runs along the far bank. With such fine weather a quick swim finished the day off perfectly. All fish returned.
