River quite high but clear and conditions good. Took several small fish on heavy nymphs in a couple of locations but otherwise little sign of activity. Only one fish required the use of the net.

Quite a challenge working out the best approach to get to the water without breaking your neck, but once this was sorted out, very wild fishing indeed, water was a little to low for it to fish well, and as a result no fish were caught, lovely quite day, would definitely go back.

Thought it worth a go as the river levels were dropping after rain; sound theory? Yes, river was fine, access however, no. You must take your hat off to the bank clearing staff for their intrepid exploits where they have worked and access into wader depth water was there but unfortunately, unless you can get 40m+ back upstream against waist depth flow, there's no way to get out again, and the rest of the bank was way too overgrown to cast from. So, two hours trying to cast a fly and I gave up and drove the 40 miles back home. If the WUF are going to continue to charge more for game fishing in summer months, perhaps they should do something for game anglers. Too often the summer season is geared only for the course angler. Yes, the choice is mine but if there is no fishing possible on a beat, don't offer it!

Fished mid-aternoon to dusk and the stretch continues to fish well although I'm definitely having to work a bit harder for the fish than earlier in the season. All chub came to rolling meat with the feeder being really quiet until the last hour when the barbel came on the feed. Best barbel weighed in at 7lb 4oz.

Caught on a range of flies. Started with large light green olive and worked through a number of others before small nymph was the order of the day for a 5lb rainbow.

Very nice stretch of the Wye. River levels were up slightly following a few weeks of very low levels (from what I read on previous reports) with some colour to it.
Conditions were overcast at first with a bit of rain, however this then turned to bright sunshine for the rest of the day.
Caught 4 Barbel to 8.5lbs and 8 Chub to 4lbs between us. All fish were caught using open ended feeder with pellet/groundbait and CBS River Monster hook baits.
I was concerned about the Water pipe/hump on the track that people have reported on. This needs attention as a lower vehicle could bottom out/ cause damage to undercarriage. My A4 Avant was OK over it but only just.

The river was falling from a flood. It was about 1ft above the summer level and a good colour. Had a fantastic day with a client catching throughout the day. 3 x 8lbers were about the largest and a 5lbs 6oz chub made it a day to remember.
Most of the barbel were 6lbs plus which is a great average size.

Water dropping, fishing not easy. Alternated between meat & pellet. Straight lead on the meat & feeder with the pellet.

River falling and very clear. 10lb salmon caught in the morning in Gravelly Pool, fished from left bank on Ty Newydd beat. Caught on 1/2 inch tube fly (monkey fly), black & yellow on an intermediate tip. Conditions perfect. Saw one other salmon & had a few plucks at the fly. Also had a fish on briefly at Top Planks on right bank in afternoon. A great day's fishing.
