Clear river and bright sunshine. A wonderful day on a wonderful beat, even if the fish caught were small.

1 Trout, 6 Grayling

Fish from 4"-10". A couple on a mayfly nymph, the rest on an Adams. We shared a rod and John caught his first fish, which I have been trying to get him to do for two years so it was a bit of a red letter day.

Guiding two clients. The river was high but it fished quite well. 6 trout best around 14 inches.

A beautiful stretch of river but nothing rising and no success with a nymph. Did however see an otter! Strongly recommend a wading staff on this section of the river.

Difficult conditions with the river running fast so no fish but a lovely afternoon!

Enjoyable days fishing in a very nice location. Unfortunately due to my lack of experience failed again to catch anything. Lots of activity above the water almost all day but didn't see a fish rise till 16:45 and planned to finish at 17:00. Will definitely return to this beat.

Nothing caught. Lots of insect activity but little rising. One Goosander seen below Penpont.

This beat is very difficult to enter the water when the river is up. The right bank which is most of the beat is overgrown and in places blocked by fallen trees. Tried to fish from the bank no joy.
0 return. I think the landowner needs to do a little bit of gardening, not impressed.

Water still a bit high with some colour, no salmon seen, not much surface trout movement. 3 Trout caught, all took salmon flies. Had a good day however in great part of Usk valley.
