9lbs springer today at 6:10am on a small Black + Orange brass tube and full floating line at Pant-y-Goitre

Fabulous conditions all day, river at its best height, superb fly water, struggled through the day with no fish seen but perseverance paid off to a syndicate rod who reported a 15lb fish from lower beat 3 Saturday evening.

Had this sea lice Springer this morning at 6.10am, between 9lbs and 10lbs hen fish at Pant-y-Goitre on a Black + Orange 8mm brass tube full floating line, WATER HIGHT 0.88m.

First time on this beat, missed the turning to the House twice! The sign mentioned on the beat directions is almost all covered by greenery now.
3 WBT caught, a good 5-6 missed or lost. Best fish was about 1.5lb at least and gave a great account of itself. Nice mix of water, near the top of the beat is where I had all my success. Not much of a hatch, there was a brief flurry of olives and the trout switched on and that's when I had all my fish. All fish caught on bead headed nymphs although did have two offers to the dry fly. A cracking day once again, thanks to WUF.

Cold day up the Usk all fish caught on worm off bottom.

Great beat. some lovely wbt all in the pound to a pound and half range and all returned safely. No rise at all. All fish came to weighted nymphs. I will fish this beat again

Nice day out but no fish taken. One fish moved at Vanstone. Water very high with colour, no point wading for most of it as you would be up to your chest on stepping in.

Nice stretch of river, could do with a serious clean up. All the trout stocked fish around the pound mark, and caught on dry. Nice hatch of fly. Looked like Ldo and some olive upwrights.

Fished between 10.30 am and 3pm. River in great condition. No fish rising to dry fly. One pull on Olive nymph. No fish landed.
