Sunny and bright with a light upstream breeze. Very little surface activity so nymphed for most of the day. Tried dry fly in likely places but no joy. Water very clear and fish easily spooked.

Lovely day perfect conditions, only a limited hatch around the middle of he day. The browns were all small. I will definitely return another day.

4 Trout

Fishing from boat at the top end we landed 8 fish all in good condition, full finned hard fighting. The biggest 3lb others circa 1lb caught with deep sinking line all on dragonfly nymph.

Sunny day but a cool wind. Little fly life due to breeze. All fish caught on grhe and several missed. A good day for this time of year on a lovely beat.

Bright and breezy day. No hatch to speak of, a few adult granom egg laying but nothing hatching or rising. The river still holding slightly above normal flows.
Fish taken on bugs and nymphs to about 30cm. Nice day. Thanks!

12 Trout, 4 Grayling

Again I only managed a couple of hours fishing between 2 and 4pm. This beat is easy wading and the parking and access is great. I only fished bridge to bridge and didn't see a single fish rise, but fishing a size 18 hares ear quite deep I hooked and landed 4 trout, 2 of which were about 11/12 inches. I also pricked 2 fish in a fast run and it was a satisfying challenge getting out on these small streams once again, covering every inch of water with a flick of the wrist. The sound of sheep, spring birds and low flying aircraft really let me know where I was, and I can't wait to get back to the Arrow again.

No salmon seen or caught

23lbs fresh run cock salmon caught on 2 inch yellow tube at 9am from tail of Windmill. Water perfect height & colour (cloudy grey/green. Light frost at first becoming bright cloudless warm day No other touches. About 20 canoeists from mid morning to early pm but none after about 2.30 thankfully. Saw one other salmon of about 15lbs in Electric Lines about 5pm. Very surprised not to see more fish. Left other chums still at it at about 6.30pm.

Very sunny day with a fair hatch of buzzers. Fished nymphs/buzzers in the morning with no result. Very few fish rising. Returned in evening fishing deeper with goldhead/black lures. Caught 4 trout 8oz - 1lb. Kept two fish which were full of cased caddis - so they were obviously feeding on the bottom which explained the lack of success with the nymphs. Water temp 12C air temp max 15C.
