Fished 7am-12pm then 2-5pm roughly, no bites on dry flies. 3 brown trout all between 8-20cm long on nymph. Largest was caught at the very top of the beat around 11am. Next time we'll plan our trip to target the evening rise.

Lyepole continues to fish well - in spite of the low level and a hot, bright day. Steady progress upstream in the morning, with Grayling from most of the runs that I fished. Mostly fish in the 7 - 8" bracket, with a handful of bigger fish. Let's call it 2 dozen. A friend turned up at lunchtime with his gas cooker and lashings of sausages and bacon. Although the intention was to fish downstream in the afternoon, replete with a thoroughly unhealthy lunch, somehow I never quite got around to it. However, my friend - who is very much a 10ft 7wt Reservoir Man - did catch his first ever Grayling with more or less his first exploratory cast with my 7ft 6in 3wt rod

Hot day, all the main pools had people swimming, paddling in so choice of spots very limited. All fish in prime condition, the middle sized fish around a pound put up a superb fight.

Water fairly low and bright sunshine. 2 lovely sized trout, 1.5/2lbs both caught on perdigon nymph under a dry cast into pool tails.
Sadly lots of people letting their dogs jump in the river and 3 or 4 families swimming, boating and skimming stones in the big pool by the island. Would have probably had a lot more fish if they were not present.
