2 grayling one small trout and a parr. No salmon. but we will keep trying.

Excellent days fishing on this fantastic stretch of the River Usk. Rained most of the day but plenty of rising trout which were tempted by f- flies, hoppers and terrestials and. prince nymphs Hares ears p.tn.s.. This is a secluded beat with easy access and easy wading. caught trout to 2llb and plenty of them. No Salmon seen or caught by Mr C. F. Had such a good day we have booked it for next week.

I took my cousin on his first ever salmon fishing trip and he caught his first salmon, 8lb lightly coloured female fish which was returned on spinner.

Only one brownie spotted during 5 hours. No rises or takes. Water quite low completely clear. Challenging.

Fish caught on feeder/halibut pellet and trotted Bait Tech fish-meal pellets.

3 Barbel, 9 Chub, 3 Other

Very pleasant day's fishing. Trout small - one about 12inch and two around 6inches, water clear.
Talybont Railway Station Inn, excellent for drink and snack lunch close to top of beat.
Access not easy for half beat.

River in great condition after the rain. No surface activity but fish taking nymphs well.

Very tough with very little action.

1 Barbel, 1 Chub

Pellet and luncheon meat baits used. River fairly low and clear.

Catch numbers are approximate as I lost count. Biggest barbel went 8lbs 9oz and chub went 4lbs 8oz but was spawned out. It had the head of a 6lb fish easy. River at summer level, lovely day.
