Nil caught today. Plenty of fish seen though...evidence of the carp spawning which I will use as my excuse.

12 x trout 6-10 inches on a small Rusty Klinkhammer. The occasional fish rising to terrestrials blown down by a warm breeze gave something to go at; otherwise prospecting likely spots. The average size in this brook seems to have increased just a bit compared to a couple of years ago: quite a number of 8,9 and 10 inch fish this year.

Nice conditions, beautiful water in beautiful scenery. Brought one small trout to hand, but lost five better fish. Enjoyed (?) an involuntary swim. I shall try again.

River at 1ft 4" and still carrying some colour from Ithon. Could only fish from 7am to 9am. We tried all the choice spots and saw a couple of fish in Rock pool, but only shad and a single trout where interested in our flies.
Spectacular morning and the beat was looking fantastic.

Both good sized rainbows (about 2lb) caught spinning, one on a silver Toby, one on a small diving plug. Few places to try fly but failed on fly, hot sunny day saw very few fish moving. Great place to get kids into fishing my 8yr old caught his 1st fish with the small diving plug, V.v. happy boy!
