Extremely windy and raining like a hurricane caught 1 brown around 12" long on black gold head wading difficult as very slippery to much wind to fish lovely stretch looking forward to returning in more favourable conditions, no gin of any fish rising very easy access to the water from car park also hand little cafe next door for a welcome cuppa to try and dry off.

Started damp & overcast, river rising slightly, hoped this might liven my chances but no. 3 WBT on my 15 year old cascades was the best I could do. Met Steven Marsh Smith who gave me a few pointers, didnt thank him for that or conservation apart helping to make all this fantastic fishing readily available to all, keep up the good work! ps,saw the Osprey. RAIN ANYONE?

9 x trout 9-13 inches, 1 x out of season grayling 9 inches, on various spiders. The river was very low, down on its bones, but the temperature had also dropped, showers of rain falling and that persistent wind was blustering away again. Not really a dry fly day, but trout were lying in the fast water at the heads of pools as if they at least expected something to hatch.

No fish - fished for about an hour but the conditions were too windy and not the easiest place to fish with fly only. Fished there many years ago and shan't fish there again.

Fished with fly 0830 to 1330 nothing seen or caught. Weather overcast light occasional showers. River level good wading in some areas possible. Tried the spinner after lunch 2nd cast opposite the gravel bank caught a Pike approx 4lbs. Sun appeared quite warm afternoon nothing else seen or caught except one clam! Then every cast came back with weed on the hook on every part of the river that I tried. I had a good day out got some good and needed wading and casting practice in. Thanks. TM

River was a good level, although slightly coloured after some rain overnight. Weather was sunshine and showers and quite windy so very litte action on the surface. We both spent the majority of the day nymphing with sucess on a hares ear and pheasant tail patterns - but needed weighted patterns to get them down.

2 trout at about 10-12 inches and 2 at 6-8 inches, all safely returned.

Another great day and looking forward to my next visit.
