Ideal height, overcast, rain. 2wbt - one over 2lbs.
T J hooked a good fish in Langoed Pool, bored deep for a few minutes then, sadly, came off. A good day.

Stephen Jaques caught his first Salmon! A lovely fish of around 10lbs - it took a spinner and was returned very carefully. Otherwise just shad and the odd trout to report. A wet day by the end!

10lbs freshish fish on Red Francis tube/sinker. Strong fight.

Landed 4 BWT each - most 8/9" - largest 11". Good mayfly hatch in the afternoon despite the rain. Most caught on mayfly - a couple on pheasant tail. Water at good level and clear.

[n.b. Gary Evans was fishing on Wed. 13th not 14th] Arrived at the river at 8.15 full of optimism having heard of news of Gary's success yesterday evening. River 0.75m on the gauge carrying a little colour but unfortunately barometer dropping fast.I was treated to a pod of salmon passing through with approximately 7 head and whirry tail rises at the neck of rock pool in the space of 20 mins. A wonderful sight. Unfortunately they were clearly unimpressed by my efforts with fly and spinner and their intransigence lasted until I called it a day at 6.15. with river carrying more colour and starting to rise again. Another cracking day. I remain totally hooked on this salmon fishing lark. Amazing creatures. If I ever catch one I will be a basket case!

Could only fish the morning due to work but touched nothing and saw nothing.

Caught 3 brown trout on sunken hair's ear nymph between 11am and 5pm. Water seemed about right. Quite a few fish rising also.

Six rainbow trout caught using worm as bait.

Water levels very high and wading even in margins very difficult. Beat almost unfishable, 1 grayling.
