Lovely weather and a great location but sadly another blank. Only saw a few rises and had a couple of bites but failed to connect. Maybe it will be better later in the year?

No fish caught. Saw only one rising fish all day. Access to banks on western end of beat not very easy - was with 10 year old son and not wearing waders. Not a problem, but would have been good to know. Himalayan balsam abundant in places - is there a control strategy on the Lugg?

On a lovely, warm spring day hoping to tempt some trout to the surface. Hard going with no hatch to mention and nothing rising at all. Very little moving and trout still feel a month or so off, but I can't fault an early season "practice" day in the beautiful Crai valley.

A wonderful morning fishing! Birds singing in the warm spring air and a very large, well mended kelt about 11am. Thanks to Don and Adam for the fishing chat.

What a lovely day (for those who dont mind unseasonal weather)! Had a kelt around lunch time from the bottom of the beat and a pike about 8 or 9lb from the wood crib, after casting to a fresh looking fish showing. It did have me fooled for a couple of minutes. Enjoyed this beat again, nice to talk with Don and John the other angler on the beat. Let pray for rain!

I fished beat R59 on the above date with my son. Both of us blanked but I make no complaint about that; it happens. We both loved the place and despite not catching enjoyed the day. I noticed that work to destroy Japanese Knotweed has been carried out. Also that new growth has begun to take hold and knowing how swiftly this plant develops,- perhaps the relevant authority- if they aren't already aware,- should be notified.
