Fishing the upper beat and fished 100yards below the disused railway bridge. There are 47 steps down to the river and when you get there it didnt appear anyone had fished there for a while. I didnt find any more ready swims. But if you dont mind that you can make your swim, it is a bit steep though. The river was a bit higher and coloured compared to the previous day at Caradoc. After about two minutes I caught my first barbel. I ended up with nine weights, 5.14, 7.9, 5,4, 6.13, 6.3, 5, 4,and 6.9lbs. Also lost three. A good day, all caught on the large halibut pellet again, couldn't get bite on luncheon meat. Its a nice stretch if you dont mind a bit of bank clearing! All fish caught between 13.00 and 18.00. Thanks WUF.

Weather good in the morning. 9 small brownies, 3 grayling.
By 2pm rain came in very wet. Good sport nice little stream with descent size fish as expected.

The river was a few feet up and coloured. Both rods ledgered with sweetcorn, luncheon meat, pellets with crab paste. Five fish landed including 3 barbel, biggest 7lb 10oz and two chub, four fish lost in snags. All in all a good day given the conditions.

Disappointingly blank, but not a lot I or anyone else could do about it. Overnight rain continued to hammer down all day and Wyebank offers few options when river is moving like an express train across its width. Made a token gesture, but even Don's suggestion that the only swim offering a chance was the slack water by the level markers didn't produce. Hard to stay cheerful with rain running down your neck and the prospects of a fish remote. Packed up musing the cost of a two-day Wye trip in which I'd fished effectively for only a quarter of the paid-for time.Cheered up on way home, reflecting that with 70th birthday coming up, another completed outing on the lovely Wye is a bonus.

Had a go from 12pm until 5pm. Not much fun though, very wet and windy and river rose 4" while I was there. Clarity not great, just over a foot or so I would think. Did see 2 coloured 10 pounders in the top of the rock pool. Other points of interest were an otter working the Bridge Pool and a tailess (bob-tailed) fox working the far bank at the Gravel Catch and then sheltering by the dying Oak tree.

A lovely beat, but no salmon seen or caught.

An extra 3 feet of water restricted fishing to Legg Meadow. A slow day with only 1 barbel of 5lb 6ozs caught along with several dace and eels. Again nothing on pellet.

Surprisingly quiet day on a coloured, falling river, despite the rain that came down in the morning.
One barbel 3rd cast and then two small chub during the rest of the day. Not even any evidence of an evening feeding spell towards dark. Very strange, but I guess that's the nature of the game.

3 rods caught 13 Barbel to 8lb 14oz and 2 Chub, pellet & meat being the successful baits. First time on this stretch thoroughly enjoyed the day. Watch out on this stretch, the Barbel bites were more like taps than grab your rod. Will be back.
