No fish caught. Fished from 12 - 3pm and saw no activity at all. Very little fly life visible and no fish moving. Nice bit of river though - will probably visit again later on in the year. Water was visibly a foot or so low already by the look of things.

Probably a little early this far up the river! Did have a nice grayling. Great to be back on this part of the river anyway.

Great day fishing the top (Duke's) beat of Wyesham on a day ticket. Full sunny day, water at 49 degrees, and about 2ft on gauge. The top half of this beat from the island down to the railway viaduct is superb fly water and an easy wade on gravel.
Caught one large (36") very well mended hen kelt in the 'Pipes' and lost one head banging fresh salmon of around 12lbs just below the island - it just 'fell off' the hook after a few minutes of playing...Both on floating line with slow sink tip and a 1" aluminium silver bodied dark Willie Gunn.
I look forward to a return trip later this year.

Arrived to find another beautiful stretch of river, roved the length, and managed 8 barbel to 7lb 11oz, and 2 chub to 4lbs. The angler load on the river is just right for such beautiful, tranquil surroundings, keep up the good work.

Great venue, had a good day but the fish didn't bite. Enjoyed watching the salmon jump though!

The weather was kind to us and the fish clearly appreciated this too as we had 13 barbel, 17 chub, 4 WBT & 2 grayling between the three rods. 12 of the barbel fell to one rod with the best going 8.05. All the fish were taken on maggot fished on a 3-4ft tail in conjunction with small maggot feeders. All the fish were taken at the lower end of the beat. We also had a slight incident concerning some youngsters who decided to start pitching rocks into our swims from the high bank opposite us. Fortunately it was short lived and soon stopped.
