Area:Irfon & Ithon
Beat:Gofynne
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:2
River high and coloured, borderline unfishable, but we gave it a go. Searching out the deeper pots and eddys, we managed 3 grayling and a couple of WBT on heavy shrimp and peeping caddis patterns. Nothing big but any catch in the conditions felt like a victory.

River up but fishable with enough swims for 4. 2 blanks, 1 had 3 & lost a couple, 1 had 6 & lost 4 so even though conditions were tough it was worth sitting it out. Will definitely return to this area.

Second day on the Wye after blank first day river was still up around 2.6 metres. We decided to fish bottom section which proved a mistake not many slacks to aim for and once again all three rods had no bites just one foul hooked eel! Again it is hard to judge this water on the conditions.
