Nice fish on dry large dark olive emerger pattern. In the fast water near the bench.

Hooked up with 3 nice fish on heavy nymphs but only got one to the net which was returned safely. No significant hatch and very few fish rising.

Very little showing ... even during the short hatch mid afternoon.
Three fish missed fishing spiders in the pool closest to downstream limit.

A big strong hen fish of 93cm on the PATSY FLY.

Saturday a cock fish of 90cm (also pictured below).

For those interested in the fly used the last picture is Patsy’ showing her usual modesty when on hearing news one of her flies had caught another Salmon ….

One trout caught and lost two nymphing, no fish rising.

Fantastic day. 17 trout on dries and size 16 scruffy nymphs (euro nymph) all larger trout on nymphs. Biggest just under 2lb, three around 1.5lb. Caught a few smaller fish on dry (jingler). A few dark olives hatching early afternoon. Only second time fishing Usk, first time yesterday on beat below Dinas (3 -all on dries). Will be back!
