A beautiful stretch of water with many interesting runs and pools. Unfortunately the strong cold downstream wind made fishing difficult and the fish uncooperative with only one rising fish found all day, despite walking the majority of the beat. Nothing caught this time but I will return when conditions are more favourable.

River very low and clear, very little hatching but occasional fish rising right in the shallows beside the bank. Very strong downstream wind made fishing to those fish very challenging indeed. Nothing caught. Encountered a lady fishing who said she had the owners permission to fish whenever she liked. Last year we met a man and grandson fishing who said the same thing.

Great stretch of river with plenty of water. Very intimate fishing so 6' 6" rod was perfect for combat fishing. Not many fish showing but managed to rise 4 to 10" with a size 16 LDO. Would be great stretch during a hatch.

Plenty of fish rising in the two pools in the upper section. Got four about 10 inches ona mixture of Adams and emergers, lost about the same again. Got another three on a hares ear klink on the fast run just below the church, again about 10 inches.

In the afternoon fished the tail of the fast run at the bottom of the beat. Got 6 very nice fish 12- 14 inches in about 90 minutes, on a klink with two nymphs, honours shared equally between the two nymphs and the Klink.

Great days fishing.

0 fish. Cant see how anyone has managed to get trout of this place. Small and over grown with junk in all the deep holes. Seen two small grayling in the shallows, and one trout rise in the one deep hole that looked fishy, that was too overgrown to cast in.

Poor days fishing on a poor looking venue, specially for the price.

River running low and clear so fishing difficult, managed a couple of trout on nymphs. Fly life steady through the day with no major hatch. Saw a mink by the main house.

Clouds of grannom when we arrived and we caught and released 6 fish before lunch as well as "missing" other firm offers. As well as grannom, Tups and olive cdc flies were effective. Change of wind in the afternoon brought a sharp chill to the river and rising fish were rarely found in the lower half of the beat so there were no further catches. There was only one other trout rod on the river and we wondered whether it was strictly necessary to split the fishing between morning and afternoon sections if there are no salmon rods on the beat?

A few hours fishing but no catches this time around. Quite low water. Lovely remote beat, a pleasure to be on.

1 trout - dry fly, the water was very low

A bright day and the wind still had a little 'edge' to it but out of the wind very pleasant and good to be out.Started about 300 yards above the weir and steadily worked my way to the top over the course of about 3 hours. Very little fly in evidence, some micro caddis dipping and one or two larger sedges and even the odd olive around midday but rising fish almost totally absent. Some hawthorn flies high in the bushes but keeping well away from the water! Having said that a super day with fish falling to bead head PT nymphs - size 12/14. Had eight trout to 14" ( most 10-12") and four grayling to 12" - all fish in super condition and the trout were particularly chunky and fought like demons. Fish confined to streamier water. A really enjoyable day on a water new to me. Super wildlife too with woodpeckers, various butterflies, buzzards everywhere! Good to be alive. I shall return.
