Awesome fishing, river low, and sparse hatches of flies during the afternoon. Couple of dozen grayling nothing much bigger than a pound. and a dozen or so trout best 2lb on a Klinkhammer. Fish came to a range of pheasant tail type nymphs, Klinkhammer and Olive emerger CDC patterns. Wonderful experience of an otter fishing the same pool at the same time, seemed to be totally oblivious to me and came within a 10ft or so. still caught fish in the pool after he went through!!! Lots of other predators on beat, you may have an issue with Cormorants (*2) and goosanders. Large flock (12+) birds in the upper area of the beat.

River about 1ft up and fining down after the weekend flood water. Fished from 3pm - 8pm. Only saw half a dozen canoes. Had a barbel on the third cast using hemp and groundbait feeder with pellet hookbait. No free offerings. Caught steadily up to 12 fish, biggest went 8lb exactly. Great to catch fish in bright sunlight. They all fought and went back really well with the fresh water in the river. Many thanks WUF!

After an unproductive morning with the first 2 swims only producing one small chub, I finally found the barbel feeding in the third swim, taking 8 fish to 7lb 8ozs and one further chub of 3lb 8ozs. All fish taken on Halibut pellets.

After a very windy weekend, bank holiday Monday was a perfect day. At the beginning of the R2 beat towards the washpool I caught a few wild brown trouts, on a black kllinkhammer. Although quite small, they were all fighting like much larger fish. Further up the river where it runs next to the road in deep section I tried a different method as at around 12.30pm the fish stopped comming up to the surface. I used Red Tag with Gold Bead Head, and hooked up a massive grayling, around 3 pounds. Strange thing is that I haven't seen single graying anywhere in the water, fish are easily scared that absolute stealth is must.
Great place, stayed at "The Clochfaen" B&B, great place to stay would recommend to everybody!!

Apologies for not leaving a return in the box at Cregrina when I finished. Pre-occupied with a wader full of murky brown water! Catch of two Brown trout approx 7-8oz? Both returned. One on a pheasant tailed nymph the other on a GRHE. Stayed near Glasbury with a friend. I find the service from the Foundation to be excellent. Thank you!

Didn't see or touch any salmon. Enjoyable day none the less.

First time on the Wye, river was running off nicely at just over a foot above normal levels. Fished a morning session only (on cricket and beer festival tour) from 7am to midday. Stunning scenery and cracking sport, baited up my swim (1 rod swimfeeder with hemp, halibut pellet groundbait, with hair rig pellet) 2nd rod ledgered hair rig pellet) caught a chub 1st cast, 2 barbel (7.5lb, 6.5lb): FIRST EVER BARBEL!!!!(Perfect condition,no sign of previous contact with homo sapiens). Followed up with lots more chub (best 4lb, 3lb) and got dragged all over the place by a large barbel that eventually snagged and snapped me!! Won the game of cricket as well!!! Happy days, can't wait to come back to the Wye!!
