Return is one trout about a pound and a good shad of about 2 pounds. Quite a shoal of them at the top of the beat.

16 WBT plus quite a few grayling. Good average size of trout, biggest 14", grayling biggest 10". Had to work quite hard for the fish but better weather than earlier in the week, less wind and warmer made a difference with a fair few flies including mayflies, but lots of rises seemed to be to emergers. Most caught on small klinkhammers, Adams and the odd big mayfly pattern.
Shared a lovely day with a heron, herd of bullocks, a mink and a very nice gentleman who apparently had permission to fish for grayling from the "colonel".

Beautiful water but cold & windy conditions again made the fishing challenging with minimal surface activity. On advice from Stuart Jarvis who was also fishing, we stuck mainly to Czech nymphing and had 8 - 10 smaller fish to 3/4 lb, all returned.

Cold windy day . Heavy rain and very gusty conditions. Recent water in Llyn.
Caught about dozen small fish ( about 1/3 lb. ) in no time on traditional loch wet flies - the usual here.
But landed a magnificent "black trout" about 1 1/4 lb black back and dorsal fin , bottle green flanks with irridescent golden / red spots - a beauty for here. Caught on a gold head abot 10 feet from side near water lilies at bottom of llyn. Will come again.
Weather worsened evacuated to the warm.

Fished most of the day through heavy showers and a strong wind, this beautiful stillwater is not to be missed. I had one 10inch brown caught on a small gh black pattern. On a good day I think this fishery could produce some outstanding fish.

Fished on Wednesday afternoon till dark and Thursday untill 3pm. Lost a shad to a barbless spinner at Upper Rocks. The water here is fast flowing with deep pots. Just above The Rock Pool I had a follow from a decent trout on the spinner. On the fly, had several plucks, trout I assume. At summer level I still got the fly to fish nicely at Wood Stream from the right bank. Next time I will try from the hut side, easier I think because of the steps at the top of the run here. There is deep water on the right bank as you approach the bridge. Met "Day Rods" who had caught shad in the previous week and were catching good bags of trout at dusk on size 18 grey dusters; was kindly given some. Finally, had a BBQ on Wednesday by the hut with work colleages. Welsh Spring Lamb, mmm!

Our third visit to this beat but windy cold conditions with frequent showers made it the most challenging. Klink & Dink, Czech Nymph and dry only all tried with some success but dry very tricky in strong headwind. very limited surface activity but fish of 1 lb taken and returned from bottom pool and 2lb plus fish taken from long rocky pool below access point, both on iron blue klinkhammers. As the access is down a very steep bank from the lane it is well worth taking a rope to attach to rear of car and aid access and egress from the river.
