Once again a beautiful beat, with excellent access to the water. Caught 4 fish, all on nymps. Shame the season has to end. See you next year!

Beautiful stretch of river. Parked by the Church and fished the first two miles of the beat quite extensively. The low water made things very tricky with fishing confined to the heads and tails of pools and riffles. Strangely no trout caught and only a few seen. Small pods of Grayling around under trees and in areas where there was a little current (few and far between). Nonetheless, we had a great time on this lovely beat and landed 11 grayling between our two rods, the largest of which was one and half pounds. We also had a couple of other ones of around a pound and a bunch of little ones.

Well that marks the end of another trout fishing season for me..... better get the vice out and find my seat at the pub which has been empty all summer as I have been on the river...

Between 2 rods, 8 x grayling of different sizes plus a small chub and trout. A day with Kim Tribe studying the duo system, during which I invariably struck too early, too late, or too hard. Kim was patient, but I need to practice here.

Another cracking day with 22 Barbel to 7lb (2 rods), mostly to pellet but a couple on garlic sausage. Already can't wait for our holiday next year. Many thanks to WUF for setting up this facility which is both easy to use and informative.

No fish seen or caught. THe service from the Foundation was excellent.

River low and clear. However, still managed 11 barbel all between 6lb-9lb. Fished through the afternoon and caught at regular intervals right up till 6.30, in fact had a fish on my last cast. Friend who fished with me had one barbel 8lb, his first time ever on the Wye and he can't wait to arrange another trip, this time for some autumn grayling and pike.

8 x trout, 6 - 11 inches, 2 x grayling 8 inches and 13 inches. A beat with great potential - who knows what dwells in the deep places - but now in urgent need of a trim. The top third is so overgrown that barely 2 pools are viable.

River very low & clear, fished top end of beat for 13 barbel to 9 12 lb and 4 chub to 3lb.

Fished Lower Carrots in bright sunshine. Great location and almost canoe free, but hard fishing. Nothing before 3pm but ended with 5 barbel to 9lb and 2 large chub.

We were lucky to have a cloudy, windless, warm day. Although the river was low and clear and we were strangers to the beat, we quickly found rising fish everywhere. Granted there were lots of smaller fish in the very shallow water but in the gravelly glides of 18" - 3' there were the bigger fish. We probably only managed to get to about half way up the beat before finishing but had caught a very respectable number of fish - 30 or so between us (2 rods). Grayling to 1 1/2lbs and trout to 13" and all on very small dry flies - GRHE in the main. Had to go to 8x tippet and a long leader.

It was lots of fun and the scenery and peacefulness were much appreciated. It seems to be suited to low water conditions as those flows between the islands would be quite difficult with water on. We would recommend the beat most highly.
