No. of Anglers:1
Fished from 9am to 1pm - sporadic hatches in between the gusts of wind. Caught 6 brown trout to 12" all on copper john nymph. Stunning beat, easy wading, mouthwatering stream features. Must be some big fish lurking around.

Huge beat, lots of opportunity. Good mayfly hatches, had 8 trout to 10" in a very short session (1hr). Could have stayed all day and caught till my arm ached I reckon! Seemed to carry a good flow when all the other streams were suffering badly. e.g looked at the Escley and the Honddu first, ended up on the Dore - glad I did!

Beat:Chainbridge
Fishing:Trout (River)

Fished as guest of the owner in the evening. Low water meant the 300m below bridge was easily wadeable and combined with a steady hatch of BWO's which brought most fish to the surface made for a memorable short session. Had fish on 1st and 2nd casts! Over next hour brought 9 more to hand most between 10" and 12" with a couple around 15". Lovely fishing.

Excellent day despite bright and breezy conditions. A little colour in the water following the recent rain probably helped. 8 WBT to the net + 1 salmon parr. All safely returned. Most WBT in the 6-10 inch range, but I netted a spectacular specimen that was at least 16 inches. A variety of flies proved to be successful - olive klink, copper john and yellow may spider during the daytime; parachute adams in the evening. Missed loads of takes so could have had more. Was snapped by another large fish also. Fantastic day!

A lovely day on the river with lots of flylife but a rather dry river. One small brownie caught on a size 14 yellow bodied white wing emerger [apologies, can't remember the name]. Enjoied meeting Jean Williams for the first time [thanks for the chocolate biscuits, Jean]. Only saw 2-3 other rises all day. A better day fishwise yesterday on Upper Grywne Fawr. Again a low river [despite rain the day before] but managed a one and a half pound brownie on a size 16 Red Tag. Some large mayfies about.

Beat:R17 Middle Llynfi Dulas
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
Strong downstream wind; water level very low with no flow in the now almost stagnant, shallow pools. Saw hardly a rise and just a few E. danica mayfly. Nothing on nymphs in the dubs and just two trout on a hare's ear and mayfly emerger. Desperately needs lots and lots of rain to clear everything out and freshen it all up again. Back to the main stems of the rivers I think!

River at summer level. Caught 2 trout at the very bottom of the beat from the bank , steeple casting a Kites Imperial. BWOs hatching with a few Mayfly. At this level of water one can wade as far as the Oak. Fished for salmon from The Rocks, where there was still a good flow of water. A salmon showed in The Chine Pool. Trout still rising till twilight.
