Fantastic day out, plenty riverfly life mostly upwings, Was a bit on the cold side but managed four brownies all of a decent size, but all evaded the net...one was a real stonker smashed the leader and torpedoed off downstream. Varied flies used, but imitative patterns seemed best. Already trying to find an excuse to return!!

24 fish caught, mostly trout and the odd grayling, from 3" to about 1 1/4 lb. Caught on a variety of olive patterns and black emergers, with fish caught on or near the top. Best fly size 14 olive 'F' fly. Fish rising on and off all day, temperature cold, no real hatch, best action early to mid afternoon. We all found the wading very tricky. No fish taken.

Coldish day with a nagging NE breeze and showers didn't do much to encourage the hatches. However there was some sun and this seemed to stimulate insect activity periodically. Various upwinged species were on the move, including LDOs and small mayfly. Water was clear and cold.
Fished as well as I could have expected given the conditions. Netted 3 browns including a superb 2lb specimen. 2 fish took a tungsten PTN, the other a parachute Adams. All fish in prime condition and safely returned

A whole days salmon fishing! Or at least enough to feel sated. A rare thing in the days of small rug rats. Really enjoyed fishing the Home Catch by boat. Expectancy increased with each of the 3 fish that showed while I was going down it. Almost drowned in Dolmeudwy (v difficult wade at 2ft 3") and enjoyed the newly opened up Croy.
Sadly not a tug from a salmon and only a few trout to report.

Fantastic, started on gh p/tail nymphs in morning no surface activity, 6 x grayling to 14ins, good start! Changed to dry in the afternoon, not to nuch activity but Suprisingly the trout did look up for my klink ph/tails all afternoon,1 x 14ins, 6 x 10ins, 3-5 6ins & less & more small grayling. Spoke to an otter twice before deciding he had chased what was left of the fish I had not caught down to Mortimers cross.
In all, one of the most enjoyable days fishing I have had in a very long time, thank you.
All fish blessed & returned

First day out this year. Weather was alternatively warm and cold so fish and fly life were both totally confused. Sporadic hatch of large and medium olives. 24 fish between us - 23 trout to 13" and one out of season hen grayling of 14". All on dries - our usual para ginger quills. A great start to the season but the river desperately needs some rain.
