2 Grayling, 12 Chub

Had a good day on my first session of the year.
Wonderful surroundings ,in the shadow of the castle.
Tried every pellet, meat ,bread ,paste for a futile hour until I tried a bait, not used since childhood.
By end of day, chubbed out!!!! Must have caught 30+ ..........or caught the same dullest, dimmest chub 29 times!!!
Everyone was about the same stamp 2-3lb apart from one fat boy.OH !!!.....and my first ever grayling...they actually look female...the lady of the stream I now understand. Knackered though...

River pushing through still, not much luck, apart from an Out of Season and swiftly returned trout

Forecast suggested it would be warmer, clearly the weather gods didn’t get memo as it was pretty brisk all morning….so much for Saharan dust and warmth!
River clearing and whilst fishable, was only dropping slowly and pushing through strongly, so plenty of caution required to avoid impromptu switch to wild swimming.

One OoS trout with second cast, quickly returned, a good size if a little slim.

Tried the deeper, slower spots on the meadow stretch and caught a great grayling, powerful and in great condition. So effort rewarded, another fun few hours on the Dee.

1st trip to this section,spent more time looking than fishing . River looked in good condition carry extra water and a tinge of colour. No fish caught few areas noted to try in future visits.
