The Irfon at the Colnel's Water was very low - down to 4 inches in many parts making them unfishable. Just a few pockets remained to fish. A couple of small grayling were tempted. Otherwise, hard conditions given sunny heat and v. low river ...

Will return either late in the season or early next season ... when hopefully there is more water in the river. Lovely beat still.

River was low but conditions better at Gofynne. Lovely beat. Produced a couple of good grayling in late afternoon/evening.

My friend fished this and caught a good-sized brown trout. Also had a couple of missed takes. Late afternoon into evening.

As the river was down so much the swims were inaccessible for us as we are of the older generation.have fished it before with the river up not a problem then. Did not fish, very disappointing.

30 degree blazing sun all day so not ideal conditions. Just a couple of chub hauled out between the two of us.

Weather was very hot, 28 degrees. Signs in the morning of fish rising and surface feeding. Used a dry dropper method.
There was a very large amount of the public in and around the river whilst fishing making certain areas almost impossible to fish. Dogs running into the river in most accessible areas and in all accessible areas from the bank were numerous members of the public swimming in the river mostly by the llanfoist bridge and the banks along the Abergavenny town side of the river.
By 1300 - 1400 hours the accessible parts of the river were un-fishable due to the number of people and and dogs in the river.

No fish caught and ended the session early at 1500 hours.
