Whilst we had one fish each this was from approximately 10 hours fishing. It was really quiet.

An evening session fishing from a bit below Rhydwernen farm ( a great campsite btw!) back up to the parked van, and a much needed cold beer!.
Water was looking fabulous , sparklingly clean looking bed and lots of varied bugs on the stones . The proverbial gin clear though , think the fish saw me coming for sure but managed the one so happy with that . I'm sure there's many more!
Just a great place to immerse yourself into.

Hot sunny day. Not much surface activity until 1700. Blanked until 1715 hrs but was rewarded with a 14inch fish feeding in the shallows under the trees, about 3ft from the bank. Unfortunately I had to leave at 1800 so probably missed the best of the day.

Very hot day with bright sunshine that had more impact on the fisherman than the fish. Caught in short bursts through the day , often going over an hour without a touch then a flurry of bites in succession - all on meat.
Packed up around 5 when the heat became too much

1 trout on nymph, but river very low, to the point where I believe it will be un-fishable until further rain fills the river up more.

Our usual Over-optimistic sewin season starts here! A few fish have been coming out following recent mini spates but none for us. This beat has plenty of brownies too however so we had some fun with them on dries before the main business in the dark. Nothing suggestive of sewin seen although there was one salmon showing off …. Always good to see. As was the resident otter. Ah well try again!

Another hot day. Didn't start till 9.30am breakfast at Inn on Wye too good to miss as I am on a fishing holiday so stayed on Fishery Until 20.30hrs. Obviously missing a early start meant being patient in the heat but early afternoon into evening was rewarded with 3 Barbel 7lb 2oz, 7lb 4oz and small one of about 1lb. An accumulation 7 Chub followed, best was 4lb 4oz just spawned, others were all in and around 3lb. Got a little greedy if I am honest as thinking late evening Barbel would move in. Tried various haired baits but for me Krill always seems to be best overall. 3 different swims today. All fish came from last choice fabulous swim. Bumped into Adam who was on his rounds so got to say hello. All in all another cracking day with some good fish in an AMAZING setting.
