A lovely day, slightly marred by my dropping my phone in the river while playing a good Chub. Oh well, a lovely Barbel of around 8lb, plus 3 Chub seems like a small price to pay for an enforced digital detox!

What a great day on the Wye. Caught 9 Barbel the biggest was 9lb 10oz and the second biggest was
9lb 7oz. Lost 9 Barbel to under water bank side vegetation. Wye came up by about 30cm in the days session. Caught on pellet and curried luncheon meat.

A lovely stretch of water, but easily up by two metres and extremely difficult to get anything nailed down. Racing through, and rather like drinking chocolate. No real slack areas. Attempts made, but a fair bit of gear lost. Will definitely return next year, when things are a little less turbulent.

Flood water, at least 2m above normal, a few fish caught in a slack below the big mansion on opposite side, but no other swims accessible. The owners could cut lots more swims and have more buisness.
