Very slow morning on here , was there 8.30 and it was very warm there , had my 4 in the bag mind but took up to 2.30 for them to start feeding

All 4 of us blanked today, although plenty of fish showing.

Low water. Managed three small brown trout on the dry fly.

Very rusty performance I’m afraid. Scenic and beautiful beat, I briefly connected with 3 including one big lump but totally failed to keep my end of the fishing bargain. Very clear, mostly shallow and I found it hard to get on the fish. Slipped and wallowed on my back in 6” of water - I could hear the trout laughing. Very much a bushwhack in places at present. Friendly farmer, kingfisher action galore. A beat for the more physically fit angler perhaps?

We fished after de rain from 18-22 between quarrypool en junction pool. Each of us catched 1 trout and each hooked but lost another 3-4. Instects: red spent mediim, pond olive spent, small dark olive spent. Hardly any sedges, some mayfly late dusk.
Best flies: once&Away cdc emergers no 18 pale yellow with pkume cdc, klinkhammer nr 14-16, red spent, pale yellow spent.
Nice beautiful beat. Mind there is a awkward piece of iron just beside de fence from quary pool upstream. Its a wader killer.
