When we arrived we decided to walk to the bottom of the beat found this hard going due to where the cows had been walking and the ground very bogey . The bridge across the ditch was unsafe to cross. When we reached the falls found the water was running fast. Walking back along the fence line which was all barbed wire did not find many places to gain access to the water, passed a couple of trees which had fallen across the river (should be removed ). Access on both sides of the river looked very scarce. Stopped for lunch and decided we would walk the top part of the beat. We were disappointed to find again that there was no where to access the river apart from one stile ( when stepped on fell apart ) looking to the other bank there wasn’t many places to access the water. With the water flowing so fast wading would have been too dangerous with not having access to get out of the water. Probably needs to be fished when water is lower and not running fast to enable for wading.
2 fished 1 small grayling caught.

I was plagued by small chub attacking my bait as soon as it hit the water in the morning but they moved on and in the afternoon I had 3 decent barbel 7 - 8 lbs and one decent chub of about 4 lbs.
I am glad I was the only angler on this stretch yesterday as there are very few swims , at least along the hut section.
I didnt venture further downstream past the landslide , but the river looked very rocky and shallow as far as I could see down river.
The steep bank made fishing quite uncomfortable, I wouldnt go back to this stretch.

Didn't manage to start fishing until after mid day ,river was completely different from 2 weeks ago then 0.895 at Cilmery today 0.475. fished for maybe 1.5 hrs without a nibble so change to a pink headed pheasant tail within 3 casts got a small grayling with didn't make the net then hooked on to a good size grayling 17" plus (which did make the net) no more than 3 casts after first had got off. Both where in a deeper gully. left lunch in the car but didn't forgot the can of "Veltins" out of date lager( what a surprise)which i consumed on the river bank. fished until 2.45pm not another bite. Back at the car ate my last of the season tomatoes with Cheddar and half a French stick. Went home feeling very pleased with myself.
I am sure a better angler would have caught more , a beautiful stretch of river will be back.
