We fished the field below the woods, a decent day, nice to fish the Wye with a bit of water on, my first full day on the feeder this season. I fished with a good mate of mine which was his first day on the Wye & he had never caught a barbel, he ended with 4 so great first visit for him.

River starting to run off after yesterdays rise. Fished one of the swims towards the bottom end using pellet and feeder. Good day all round. Apart from the 5 barbel landed I also lost another 3 in the heavy flow. Fish came throughout the day and I reluctantly packed up early as I had a long drive back home that evening.

One small barbel. Two decent chub - biggest 4lb 4oz. One eel. All caught fishing quite close in to the near bank as there was a lot of debris coming down the river - at one point a whole tree around 20ft long came down the river sideways!

Mostly clear but heavy sudden showers and quite windy. Didn’t spend too long as it was a bit shallow for nymphs and there didn’t seem to be any surface action.
The only thing I caught was a trout about 5 inches long at the bridge on a pheasant tail nymph.

ZERO fish and we got both cars stuck due to some rain falling whilst fishing there. The track 100% is not suitable for none 4x4 when any amount of rains falls so do not drive down to the river! We paid the farmer £25 each for towing us out so it was a very expensive BLANK lol
Fishing Passport Note : There is a mention in the beat description on the website... Vehicle access permitted right down to the river bank. No 4x4 necessary but the grass can get long and after rain, vehicle access to the river bank is not guaranteed. Please consider rain forecast before deciding to park riverside and use your own judgement. If you have to park at the entrance to the fishery there is an approx. 400m walk to the river
