Fishing:Trout (River)

Showery with sunny periods, downstream breeze.
Noon start, fish rising, olives hatching. Missed a couple of takes and then caught one about 1lb. Then all went quiet. Fished on until until heavy rain stopped play at about 3pm, lost another fish towards the top of the beat.

Area:Llyfni

Beat:River Llyfni (SGLL Fishing Society)

Fishing:All Species (in season)

No. of Anglers:1

Fished the river at Llanllyfni for 2 hours late morning and early afternoon, spin and wet fly/ nymphs. Water flowing very fast. Weed made spinning very difficult. No fish on fly.

Lower down at PontLlyfni the beat around Pont Cim had a number of fairly new-looking notices up saying “Prince Albert Angling Association, private fishing, no day tickets” so I was a bit confused., but this looks a nice area to fish later in the season.

Lots of wind and rain as you would expect ! Managed to land 2 but had a few more plucks and pulls which never connected. No hatches or any insects to be seen - no fish with their hands up ! but a weighted nymph fished close to the bottom managed a trickier day

Nothing doing - just some dimpling rises. Fell in - but (this) phone still seems to be working...

All fish caught in bottom half of the beat. 3 trout and a grayling caught on dry fly, Jingler, during 40 min hatch. The rest caught on nymph. This beat never disappoints. Some build up of algae in the slack margins. Thanks WUF.

Beat:Penpont

Fishing:Trout (River)

River levels much better. Caught tail end of a hatch with a few rises and again no takers on nymph or dries. Worked upstream from Lower end of beat to the Penpont estate. We gave it our all but again another fruitless day. Shame.

Not a bad day temp wise but raining most of the morning, caught a nice Grayling and trout under the waterfall below the fishing cabin. Just after mid day I noticed huge bubbles forming downstream of the fall, seemed strange normally it forms foam and not big bubbles?
