Great day on a challenging beat. Persistence paid off with 2 lovely trout, one circa 2lbs both on dries.

River on its bones despite some overnight rain. Managed a couple of 12ins trout to #14 black beadhead (gold) nymph in faster water before the cloud turned to sunshine. No fish taken.

Really lovely beat with good parking and access..
very tranquil and relaxing place to fish, all fish came to hares ear nymph fished duo style.

We caught 5 Barbel & 10 chub.

A tough day with no Barbel. Only 2 of the chub were of any size, both around 1lb 8oz.

River v low....lot of canoe activity mid a-day.....all fish were small nothing bigger than 3lb.

Great day fishing on this stretch despite river being very low. Started by freelining floating breadcrust in the peg by the bridge on the RHS of the river facing downstream. Spotted some big chub under the bushes. First cast got a chub about 5lb a rod length out. Great fight on a 14ft float rod.

Then moved to the pool before the rapids 200m downstream from the bridge. Swimfeeder and halibut pellet produced 3 barbel averaging 5lb with a futher 3 fish lost and numerous small barbel and chub to 4lb. Finished the day with an hour of stick float and caster and got a small chub and some roach per cast.

A slow day with only 2 bites between 7.45am and 6.30pm. 1 Chub and 1 Barbel came in the last 30 minutes before dusk. Both good fish c. 5-6lb

The river is very low and locating fish was a challenge. I fished swims along most if the beat without success. Thank you to the 2 other anglers who suggested that I try their swim when they packed up at 6.30. This was a good move!

A beautiful stretch of river. I saw countless kingfishers, green woodpeckers and a barn owl to name a few. I'll definitely return later in the season.
